Until 1981 Alexa Nosal worked as art director in the fashion industry before she became a member of Martin Solomon, Co.  Among her clients are Barneys New York, Chanel Cosmetics, Edward S. Gorden Company, Inc., Hyundai Automobiles, J. Walter Thompson, Piaget Watch, North American Watch Corp., Norcon Electronics, Inc., and Oil of Olay.  She has received numerous awards for excellence in design from the Art Directors Club, Type Directors Club, and PRINT Magazine.  She is a designer, author, and curator; she writes articles on design and typography for international magazines Between, Japan, Suma+, and tipográfica.
