Special Programs

Covering topics related to art and design, special programs are courses that foster creativity and develop the skills of students and professionals in various disciplines. These courses are given at The Altos de Chavón School of Design, in La Romana, and at Casa de Chavón, in Santo Domingo.

International Summer

During the months of July and August, art and design courses are offered for Dominican and foreign students and professionals. Among these are courses in fashion design, interior design, graphic design, and digital design, as well as specialized workshops in drawing and painting. Candidates who wish to enroll in The School of Design’s two-year degree program may also participate in International Summer, where they can work on their portfolios with the goal of admission.

Interim

In the month of January, intensive one- or two-week courses are given in Altos de Chavón to increase creativity and improve techniques in the arts and design.

Workshops are offered to complement the knowledge of professionals and advanced students in various areas and provide them with the tools to treat specific themes in their specialty.

Among the workshop themes are landscape design, interior design, typography, fashion illustration, jewelry design, editorial design, photography, and a variety of topics related to digital design.

Continuing Education

Casa de Chavón, in Santo Domingo, offers programs for adults, teenagers, and young children. Interested members of the public may enroll in courses in fashion design, interior design, and graphic design. In the arts, Casa de Chavón's wide variety of courses includes drawing, painting, art history, and creative expression for children.
